Sarah Ann Vaughn, 73, went home to the loving arms of Jesus Christ on July 20, 2024. Sarah was born, the fourth daughter of Richard A and Georgette C Rousseau, on October 11, 1950. She married her high school sweetheart, Kenneth F. Vaughn Jr., on September 11, 1971, and they spent 59 happy years together since their teenage years. Sarah happily accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior in May of 1984 along with her husband. Sarah worked as the Charge Cardiac Nurse at the Fort Wayne VA Hospital before leaving that career to stay home and care for her and Kens only child, Chelsy, and eventually helping with her husband’s many work endeavors.
Sarah was loved by everyone who knew her. She went above and beyond, using her background in nursing, to make sure that her entire family was well cared for, even in her final days. Sarah loved to cook, and everyone loved to eat whatever she made. She hosted many parties over the years for friends and family both. She loved celebrating life and hosted dozens, if not more, parties for birthdays, Christmas, St Patrick’s Day, 4th of July and everything in between. Sarah always had the most gorgeous flowers around her home, and she took pride in caring for them. She strategically picked out the perfect plants every spring, ensuring the symmetry and shape matched for each location. Her plants grew to become some of the most beautiful you’ve ever seen. Sarah was an excellent homemaker. She took pride in keeping a beautiful home for her family and friends to enjoy. Many often admired her skills in landscaping and interior design, although they were hobbies for her, she excelled at what she did. She enjoyed traveling with her family to Michigan and Florida each year and numerous other places throughout her life.
Sarah enjoyed doing many things with her little family and getting the most out of every moment. Sarah loved her husband deeply, and it was evident in all that she did. He loved her deeply as well and everyone who saw them together recognized the incredible love they shared. She and her daughter had a very close and special bond as well, talking multiple times a day and sharing in almost everything they did. They did so much together and had many traditions that Chelsy will joyfully carry on with her own children. Sarah loved being a grandmother to her two grandsons, Mak and JJ. She enjoyed spoiling them with gifts, treats and most of all, love, hugs and kisses. She loved hearing about each new thing they did and found so much joy in watching them grow.
Sarah is preceded in death by her parents Richard A Rousseau and Georgette C Rousseau (Voirol), and her three older sisters, Annette Rousseau, Elaine (Rousseau) King, and Yvonne (Rousseau) Hawkins as well as her loving nephew Christopher L deWeese.
Sarah is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth F. Vaughn Jr., who loved every moment of their time together here on this earth and looks forward to being reunited with her one day in Heaven. She is also survived by her loving daughter, Chelsy (Vaughn) Helm, her son-in-law Matthew Helm and grandsons Matthew Kenneth (MaK) Helm and Jonathan Joseph (JJ) Helm. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
