Rockie Lavon Ward

d. December 21, 2021

Rockie Lavon Ward, age 55, of Dowagiac, MI, was born on August 14, 1966 in Leechville, Arkansas the son of Lola Rock (Champion) and Earl Ward. On May 19, 2006, he married Jamie Ward.

He is survived by his wife, Jamie Ward; his daughter, Rachel Ward; and was the youngest brother of 4 siblings: Rickey Ward, Ronnie Ward, and Shelia Ward.

Rockie lived most of his life in Michigan. He traveled through states around the area, and down to Florida, occasionally for work. He also traveled down to Missouri and Arkansas every 1st week of July for years for vacation with his daughter.

Rockie worked in the RV industry most of his career. Often as a supervisor or foreman. In 2007, he started his own business laying tile and was very good at teaching others.

Rockie would happily go to church with anyone who invited him, and prayed before every meal. He loved fishing - always catch and release. Rockie also enjoyed helping people fix stuff. He was very good at fixing cars and helped his daughter on the side of the road countless times when she was a teenager. Always making sure she was paying attention to what he was fixing and why. He could tell you what was wrong with a car just by listening to it over the phone most times. Definitely a handyman around the house and at his daughter’s home when she needed help fixing things.

A celebration of life dinner was held in Rockie’s honor at the Eagles Lodge in Dowagiac, Michigan on January 15th at 2 pm.

Rockie will always be remembered and he will always be loved.
