Rickey Edward Jewell

Rickey Edward Jewell, age 65, of Bristol passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Goshen Hospital in Goshen.  He was born on June 26, 1953 to Roland C. and Betty Sager (Dibert) Jewell in Willard, OH.  On June 17, 2017, he married Dora Lea Johnson in Bristol; she survives.

Rickey was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend.  He loved his family and friends, and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Rickey genuinely enjoyed making memories with his family; he would often play tea party with his granddaughter and spend time with his grandson, Brendan.

Rickey was self-employed, owning and operating his very own semi-truck for over forty years.  His favorite past times included fishing, watching his brother, TJ, race stock cars on TV, and playing with his dogs and cats. Rickey always shared stories of the “good old days” and was an avid NASCAR fan. He could keep a beat on any drum set and played in many places with many bands.  Rickey also truly loved to ride his motorcycle and was a member of the Devils Diciples for 35 years.  He could often be found hanging out at the club in Mishawaka with all his brothers.

Survivors include his loving wife, Dora Jewell; adult children, Rick (Jennifer) Edward Jewell Jr., Stephanie McHenry, Jason (Brittony) McHenry, Jesse Arispe, Matthew Arispe, Deloris (Mitchel) Maynard; 13 grandchildren, Brendan, Dylan, Blake, Paityn, Lilly, Selena, Sophia, Sky, Summer, Candis, Kat, Dallas, Masan; brother, Tom “TJ” (Shirley) Jewell; father-in-law, Gillis Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Betty Jewell.

Per Rickey’s request, a private memorial service will take place at a later date.
