Nina R. Humbles

February 8, 1929 — January 23, 2020

Nina R. Humbles, 90, peacefully fell asleep in death at 5:30 a.m. on January 23, 2020 with hope of the earthly resurrection soundly in heart and mind.

She was born on February 8, 1929 to William and Mary Willoughby.  Nina was the youngest of six children.  After her father's passing when she was 10 years old, Nina and her minor siblings were raised solely by their loving and supportive mother.

Nina married Harold Humbles on November 17, 1946 in Anderson, Indiana.  They also lived in Decatur and Fort Wayne, Indiana for Harold's employment.  Then in 1964 they settled in North Webster, Indiana taking ownership of Harold's father's business, Humbles Nursery & Greenhouse where Nina started her much loved career in floristry.

She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on October 26, 1975.  Her love for Jehovah clearly guided her thoughts, her speech, and her works.  Nina's love of his creations was showcased in a lifetime of floristry and landscape design.  Her love of family motivated her to play a similarly nurturing role with her grandchildren and great grandchildren as previously set by Mary with Nina's own children.

In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her husband, Harold Humbles and siblings Earl (Dorothy) Willoughby, Irene (Garold) Rutledge, Freda (Bob) Shaffer, Dee (Frank) Fisher, and Jim (Joyce) Willoughby.

Nina is survived by her son, Rick (Mary Jo) Humbles, her daughter Jill Allen; grandchildren Dana (Cesar) Sanchez, Amy (Tom) Clark, Debbie (Jon) Kenemer, Jennifer (Rocky) Flynn; great grandchildren Jacob Harris, Megan Harris, Brandon Harris, Sofia Sanchez, Tristan Flynn, Cassandra Flynn, and Mason Kenemer.
