Luella "Jean" Peterman

Luella “Jean” Peterman, age 79, of Ligonier, iN went to be with The Lord on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Goshen Hospital. She was born on October 25, 1941 the daughter of Kenneth and Gertie Mae (Lawson) Morris in Kimmell, IN.

Jean loved The Lord and loved to fellowship with her church family and friends. She loved going to church, and was happiest when she was spending time with her family. Jean grew up in Ligonier and moved to Ohio in 1963. She worked there as a CNA for 21 years before moving back to Ligonier in 1985 when she went to work at Kenny Nursing Healthcare as the Food Service Supervisor. In 1988 Jean went to work for BRC Rubber and stayed there for 21 years until her retirement in 2009. She enjoyed gospel music, bowling, and fishing. Jean will be remembered as a kind and loving, mother, grandmother “nana”, and friend to many who always put her family and friends first.

She is survived by her son, Cameron Peterman of New Philly; grandson, Kevin (Jen) Peterman of Ohio; great-grandsons, Erik Peterman and Daniel Peterman, both of Ohio; 8 brothers, Ron (Pat) Morris of Elizabeth-town, KY, Kenny (Reha) Morris of Syracuse, IN, Phil (Hazel) Morris of Allegan, MI, Rick (Linda) Morris of Millersburg, IN, Greg (Sue) Morris of New Paris, IN, Cory (Susie) Morris of Ligonier, IN, John (Sue) Copas of Ligonier, IN, and Wayne (Heather) Morris of Kimmell; 2 sisters, Cathy (Bill) Stuckman of Syracuse, IN, and JoAnna Weigold of Syracuse, IN; along with extended family, Jeff Allison, Lindsay and JJ Miller, and Penny Massengill. Jean always had room in her heart for one more family member.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Rob Morris and Doug Mehl; step-father, David Mehl; and step-mother, Norma Davidson.

In keeping with her wishes, a cremation committal has taken place. A celebration of Jean’s life will be held at a later date.
