James L. Newcomer

James Lawrence Newcomer, 64, from Goshen died unexpectedly from complications of a heart attack on December 7, 2023.  He was born to the late Donald Ray Newcomer and Belvia (Keeney) Newcomer on January 12, 1959 in Charleston, West Virginia.

He loved to hunt and fish, enjoying the solitude of the woods.

Jim is survived by son, Michael (Maria) Newcomer; daughter, Crystal (Dustin) Collins; siblings, Joyce L. Sheets, Vicki Ruth Kiser, Dale Edward Newcomer, Samuel David Newcomer, and Priscilla Dawn Mohamed; grandchildren Andria, Kaylynn, Aydin, Brayden, and Karah, as well as longtime friend, Cecil Bontreger.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Donald Ray Newcomer II; and sisters, Linda Gale Newcomer, Carol Diane Monroe, and Phyllis Marlene Cooper.

Family and friends will gather in remembrance of Jim’s life on Sunday, December 17 at the Abshire Cabin, 1302 E. Lincoln Ave. Goshen, Indiana 46528, from 1:00 to 4:00 pm.
