Harold Bertram Baase

August 3, 1947 — March 28, 2024

Heaven has gained an amazing man! Harold Bertram Baase, 76, of Cromwell was called to his heavenly home on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at home. Jesus welcomed a good and faithful servant into the Joy of the Lord!

Harold was born on August 3, 1947 on the family farm in Saginaw, MI to Howard and Florence (Near) Baase. In 1981, he married Gayle L. Fox on February 21st in a packed out little family church in Saginaw County. He and Gayle would later make their way to Indiana, looking for work and a community to raise their family in. Harold found work and spent over 25 years as a wood craftsman, doing carpentry work on boats in Syracuse, Indiana - most recently for Godfrey Marine.

Harold’s talents were not limited to boats; he loved to create beautiful furniture for his wife to use in their home. Harold was a jack-of-all-trades and often used his wide variety of skills to help others. He served as a maintenance man in his church and would often go out of his way to help friends, family, and neighbors in need.

Harold was a member of Trinity Assembly of God for many years. He was a family man that spent his life helping people and will be remembered as the best father, brother, and uncle. Harold was also a wonderful husband to his wife of 43 years, he was her ray of sunshine and treated her like a queen. He will be dearly missed.

Harold is survived by his wife Gayle; a son, Martin Uhrich of Greenville, MI; daughter, Lenora Baase of Saginaw, MI; son, Gabriel Baase of Cromwell; daughter, Gaylynn (Aaron) Dixon of Cromwell; grandsons, Kaleb Uhrich, Mason Uhrich, Zander Uhrich, Julian Dixon, Landon Dixon, Grayson Dixon, and Quinn Dixon; sisters, Patricia Boucher, Linda (Jerry) Sykes, Ellen (Jim) Emmendorfer all of Saginaw County, MI, and Shirley (Dennis) Tessin of Romeo, MI; sisters-in-law, Adele (Bryan) Williams of Charlevoix, MI, Valerie (Alan) Northcutt of Sparta, MI, and Wendy (Bill) Willett of Argos, IN; brothers-in-law, Wayne Fox of Charlevoix, MI and Scott (Robin) Fox of Potterville, MI; his beloved dog, Chica; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Harold Baase, Jr.; siblings, Harriett Barror, Emily Cline, Henry Baase, Frank Baase, Jessie Hall, and Howard Baase.
