David Vanatti

David M. Vanatti, 73, of Cromwell, Indiana, passed away on May 16, 2024 at home. He was born on March 28, 1951 in Brazil, Indiana to Richard Vanatti Jr. and Mildred K. (Jones) Vanatti.

He married Phyllis L. Price on May 10, 1981 in Carbon, Indiana; she preceded him in death on June 22, 2021.

David is survived by his daughters, Sara (Neil Bradshaw) Andrus of Cromwell and Sigourney ( Anthony ) Atwood of Fort Wayne; four grandchildren; siblings, Pam (Jim) Cather of Gary, Indiana, Karen Jones of Louisville, KY, and Don Vanatti of Brazil, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of years, Phyllis Vanatti; and siblings, Dick, Karol, Kathy, Dan, and an infant brother, Thomas.

David graduated from High School in Brazil, Indiana and obtained a bachelor’s degree from Indiana State University. He retired from Nisco in Topeka, Indiana after over 30 years of employment.

David really enjoyed gardening, reading gardening books, and cheering on The Cubs. He also loved mushroom hunting, reading and writing poetry, and listening to music. Most importantly he enjoyed spending time with his family.

A cremation committal will take place at Legacy Cremation and Remembrance Center.
