Claire Michelle Tindall

Claire Michelle Tindall, 63, Avilla, Indiana, USA, passed away from natural causes in her home on Friday,
Nov. 26, 2021, after an illness.
Claire was born 8th May 1958 in Kingston-Upon-Thames England and adopted by John and Ann (Lloyd-
Jones) Tindall. She was raised in the Church of England.
Survivors include mother Ann; brother Duncan Tindall; nephew Thomas Tindall; niece Harriet Tindall;
companion Julie Scher of Avilla; “spare” nephew Michael Scher of New Haven; and family in Australia.
She was preceded in death by her father John Tindall.
Claire was operations manager and partner at Midwest Film Factory Inc. Previously she worked at
American Families Insurance agencies in both Roanoke and Fort Wayne IN from 2000 to 2014 for both
Kate McCarthy and Charles Bostwick as office manager helping each agency earn the distinguished JD
Power and Assoc. Award of Excellence multiple years.
In England she worked in 1980 to 1981 Allstate Insurance Company, in Sale, near Manchester, UK; then
Marks and Spencer Financial Services, Chester, Cheshire, UK working in Compliance; and at Rathbone
Investment Management Bank, Liverpool, UK until March 2001 as compliance officer for the company.
She attended the University of Maryland in 2010-12 and earned a master’s degree in instructional
technology. In 2006 she earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne and
completed her student teaching in Fort Wayne’s inner-city school focusing on the needs of
underprivileged children. She trained and volunteered as a Samaritan in the Chester England office
between autumn 1993 and autumn as a counselor.
Claire is a published author with an Amazon book, “Until You Know Who You Are” about her search for
her birth-parents, Harry A. “Andy” Fischer Jr. of Pittsburgh PA and Rae Doreen Sparrock of Bedford
England, who both preceded her in death. She also found a half-brother and half-sister in her search
that she stayed in contact with, Peter Hawkins of Australia and Lyndsey McRae of England.
Claire enjoyed, amongst other things, golf, swimming, tennis, driving, walking in her favorite Lake
District in England and at Chain ‘O Lakes State Park near her home, camping holidays in UK and Europe,
quizzes.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to The International Wolf Center in Minnesota, where her
favorite wolf to watch online was Grizzer, and Black Pine Animal Sanctuary in Albion near her home.
