Barry Dean Matson

It is with deep sadness that the Matson Family announces the passing of a father, brother and uncle, Barry Dean Matson on January 2, 2025 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN.

Barry was born on February 6, 1946, to James C and Fancheon Gilbert Matson in Fort Wayne, IN.

Formerly of Chicago, IL and Minneapolis, MN, Barry is survived by a son, Christopher and a daughter Chelsea, brother Mark, sister Bev, and nieces and nephews.  Barry graduated from South Whitley High School and attended the University of Hawaii and Taylor University where he studied business and played basketball.  He previously worked in the executive offices at the ABA Indiana Pacers, Indianapolis Racers (Hockey) and spent 30 years in commercial real estate.  He was an avid reader, golfer, and enjoyed history and sports.   Barry was loved and will be missed by his family.

Burial will take place in South Whitley Cemetery at a later date.
