Michael Betts

Michael Betts, age 42, of Lexington, KY passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2014 at 8:40 PM at the family cottage on Harper Lake, Kimmell, IN. He was born on March 17, 1972 to John and Pat (Weeks) Betts in Chicago Heights, IL. On May 4, 2014 he married Angela Meyers. She survives.

He graduated from Crete-Monee High School in 1990 & went on to obtain a Bachelor’s degree from Augustana University in Rock Island, IL with a major in English and a minor in Philosophy. He had worked as a chef at the University of Kentucky in the catering division. He had a love for music festivals and enjoyed hiking and camping.

Surviving are his wife, his parents; a daughter, Elouise Betts of Lexington, KY; Elouise’s mother, Holly France of Lexington, KY; two siblings, David (Donna) Betts of Lombard, IL and Steven Betts of Phoenix, AZ; two nephews, Leo and Lucas Betts.

A private cremation committal will take place at Legacy Cremation and Remembrance Center. No public services are being planned at this time.
