Sarah Rettig

Sarah AnnMarie Rettig, 67, of Fort Wayne, died peacefully on Thursday, March 21, 2013.

Surviving are her 4 children: Shelly (James) Cassell, Erik (Stacy) Certain, Sonja (Evan) Grotemat, and Heather Harmon. She is also survived by several grandchildren and siblings.

Sarah devoted her life to God and to her children – they were her greatest love. She also spent time with her best friend of nearly 40 years, Jane. She was very artistic, specializing in drawing, painting, sculptures, stained glass, and sewing. She loved music and used to sing at all of the church services on Sundays.

Our beautiful mother and grandmother will be deeply missed for her beauty, laughter, strength, creativity, and passion. But most of all, she will be missed for the love she gave to God, to her family, and to anyone around her. She had a love for life, with every breath she was blessed with taking. She will forever be imprinted in our hearts.

Visitation is from 5:00-6:00 with a memorial service immediately following at Pathway Community Church located at the intersection of Lima and Carroll Road at 11910 Shearwater Road, Fort Wayne on Tuesday, April 9th

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Sarah’s memory to Cancer Services of NE Indiana.
