Norman “Gene” Sutherlin, age 83, of Kendallville passed away on January 18, 2012 at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN. He was born on April 11, 1928 to Clyde & Margaret (Sublet) Sutherlin in Cloverdale, IN.
Gene had worked for Foundations in Albion since 1974. He loved to be outdoors, watching Nascar while cheering for Tony Stewart, watching his favorite shows on TV Land and listening to Southern Gospel Music.
He is survived by two sisters, Lucille (Curtis) Sinclair of Cloverdale, IN and Ida Leone Green of North Kingston, RI; several nieces and nephews; his best friend, Jim Neal; his friends at Foundations; and his caregivers at CLI. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Clyde Sutherlin Jr.; three sisters, Mackie Williamson, Judy Smith and Dorothy Neuhouser.
A cremation committal will take place at Legacy Cremation & Remembrance Center. A private memorial gathering will be held in Gene’s honor at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to Noble County ARC or Black Pine Animal Park.
